About

Thank you for taking the time to visit my site. I was first introduced to gaming when my brother bought Air Warrior II in 1998. Being a sports fanatic at the age of 10, I bought Madden 99 on our next family trip to Barnes & Noble. My first console was the Xbox with NFL Fever 2002.

Halo jarred me out of my narrow scope of sports gaming and opened me to first person shooters, Knights of the Old Republic opened my eyes to role playing games, and Rayman Origins brought platformers into my life. Most recent, Persona 4 Golden won me over for JRPGs. I love the experience of discovering a new genre in gaming and look forward to the many moments I’ve yet to experience.

I currently game on PS3, PS4, and PS Vita.

I also enjoy film and TV shows. For this reason I may also discuss and review other forms of media besides games.

    • Thank you for your encouragement! I truly, truly wish I enjoyed the gameplay of The Last of Us because everything else about it is astounding. I totally get how people love it. It just wasn’t for me, and that kills me. I literally think a little piece of my brain in charge of anticipation died with that game.

  1. you know what’s interesting? i played through the last of us when it was released, and it just didn’t do for me what it seemed to do for so many others. it was a beautiful game to look at (as every one of naughty dog’s games are), but i didn’t feel invested. the pull wasn’t there. i went all in, but i don’t have the reverence for it that others seem to.

    • Halo was my first FPS. I was holding off on Halo because I love it so much. Like Red Dead Redemption…it’s scary to write about a game I love. But you’re right…I should just buck up and do it sometime.

  2. Thanks for liking my introductory post! I’m out of my home right now but I took a look at your blog and found it aesthetically pleasing and followed you. I’m looking forward to reading your casual reviews in the future!

  3. I would like to say thanks for liking my second review ever. I’m fairly new to blogging and you’ve made quite a name for yourself already. I have read a few of your posts and I must say they were quite good. You have quite the style that I would kind of like to have. I’m only worried that my posts are far too long for anyone to read. Anyway, thanks for that and keep up the good work. Looking forward to more of your stuff. πŸ™‚

    • No problem. I think you just have to be you in your blogs you know? People will see that when they are reading and the people who it appeals to will follow. And you’ll have fun because it’s how you want it to be. I am no expert by any means…I tend to have down times and stuff since I also work πŸ˜‰

      • I can read through them just fine. But some people tell me mine are way too long as well. I do try to say what I have to say as quickly as possible, but different styles appeal to different people. You should stick with what feels natural to you. Mine come out this length because it feels right. Not everyone will agree. Some people like quick, and others like a really really in depth look. I’d stick with what you enjoy. That way you’re not trying to please everyone, you’re just putting your thoughts out and for those who it speaks to, you’ll get readers you can really engage with because they are attracted to your style.

      • Yes, you’re totally right. I do want people to like me for who I am. I seek to entertain, and entertainment comes in many different forms. I’m glad you like what I do and the fact that you take the time to like other people’s stuff. I’m glad to know my work has substance to stand on. Thanks once again and best of luck. I will be posting later on today in case you’re interested. πŸ™‚

  4. Hi! I wanted to say thanks for liking my first video game review at gamobo! I’m actually new to this whole video game blogging thing, so I really appreciate the fact that you took the time to read my blog! I came over to yours and liked a few of your reviews. You have a funny and casual (which is perfect) narrative, makes it very easy to read and relate to. You’ve also taught me that I should probably be giving credit to the images I use; I’m guessing you’ve gotten into legal trouble in the past? Anyway, I actually had a question if you don’t mind: which plug-in do you use for your email subscription service? Like I said, I’m still new to this whole blogging thing, and this seems like a useful feature. Thanks!

    • I actually don’t have the plug in. Didn’t even really know about it till now hahaha. That’s how I blunder through life. Actually it’s because I’m married to an illustrator and she helped me getting this started. I was preparing my first post and she was like…”you gonna credit the picture?” hahaha. Since then I’ve been sure to only use images I can credit because she’s right…can’t just post any of them. I’m way to small to be noticed, but still…better safe than sorry.

  5. I like your blog. I’m more of a casual PC gamer (retro FPS and MMO emu) and don’t own a console, but I think the reviews are pretty useful since most titles usually land on both the console and PC market. What are your thoughts on GTA V (online)? I’m a big fan of the open world approach in gaming – some do it right, others don’t.

    • I actually haven’t played GTA V online. I have played GTA V and may review it at some point. I do feel I’m missing out because I keep seeing people posting about GTA online and I’m curious now.

  6. Just wanted to say thanks for looking at my blog, just started and it’s nice to see someone is watching ^^

Also, KOTOR is by far the best game ever and I hope I’m not the only one out there waiting for KOTOR 3 – the real KOTOR 3 – not that KOR mess. My first real video game was Madden 2001 and I remember being completely obsessed. Good to see someone with similar tastes. Have a good one.

  7. Hey SevenFlorins, thanks for stopping by my blog and checking out some articles :-). It’s good to know I’m not the only person who sees Destiny for what it is – a time-suck with no redeeming payoff for anyone outside of hardcore streamers and those willing to pony up for a few extras, but a fun time-suck we can’t separate ourselves from because it’s satisfying in the moment. Are you still spending most free time on The Taken King or have you finally moved onto your next game?
